Detailed 2-Day Lake Mburo Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo & Evening Game Drive
After an early breakfast, leave Kampala and travel to Lake Mburo National Park using the Kampala-Masaka road.
On the way, stop at the equator in Kayabwe. Take photos, visit nearby craft shops to buy souvenirs, and take part in a simple experiment that shows you are standing at the equator.
After the stop, continue your journey to Lake Mburo. On arrival, have lunch at the lodge. In the evening, go on a game drive to explore the park.
During the drive, you may see animals such as leopards, hyenas, impalas, and others. After the game drive, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Community Walk or Morning Game Drive, then Return to Kampala
The people who live near Lake Mburo National Park are called the Bahima, and they have a rich cultural history.
If you are interested, you can take part in a milking activity and learn how they make cow ghee.
During the community walk, you can meet local elders who share stories about their traditions and way of life.
If there is enough time, visit community craft shops and buy handmade items such as jewelry, baskets, or smoking pipes. Afterward, return to the lodge for lunch.
Then begin your drive back to Kampala and continue to the airport or your hotel.
